Get a Harvard Domain

You can use your existing Harvard domain with your OpenScholar site. If you would like to use your existing domain, proceed to the steps for implementing your custom domain.

To get a new Harvard domain:

In order to use a third level Harvard domain (e.g., "poetry.harvard.edu"), you have to get permission from the Harvard Trademark Program.

The first step is to complete the Domain Name Request Form

Fourth level domains (e.g., "poetry.fas.harvard.edu,") do not need permission from the Harvard Trademark Program. You can proceed to steps for applying a custom domain to your site.

Please allow at minimum two weeks prior to launch date for domain name approval.
