Search Engine Optimization

To help search engines such as Google find your website content more easily, you may wish to add metadata for your pages. OpenScholar will automatically generate a brief description that will appear in the search results for your pages, as seen in the example below. These descriptions are taken from the first line of text on the page.

However, there may be times when you wish to override or customize the page's description. To do this, edit the page. From the the right panel, choose SEO. You can then add a customized description of the page.

Be sure to also review the meta description for the entire site, which you can find in the site settings
